Expeditions
Mountaineering or Mountain climbing is a hobby where people climb mountains. It may involve hiking, rock climbing, as well as crossing glaciers. Someone who does mountain climbing is called a mountain climber. Mountain climbers use the strength of their arms and legs to climb up mountains. Many mountain climbers use ropes and wear special shoes and safety equipment. Most mountain climbers go up mountains as a hobby or as a recreational activity.
K2 Expedition
K2 stands on the border between Pakistan and China and, as the world’s second-highest mountain, is considered by many climbers to be the ultimate challenge. Rising 12,000 feet above the vast Concordia glacial field at the head of the Baltoro Glacier, this massive Pyramid Peak dominates in striking isolation. The steep, icy summit is surrounded by six equally challenging ridges, each face presenting a complex network of cliffs and overhangs. For many years, K2 was thought to be unclimbable, with attempts in 1902, 1909, 1934, 1938, 1939, and 1953 all unsuccessful. Climbing K2 is far more difficult and dangerous than taking the standard North or Southside routes on Everest.K2’s unpredictable weather and treacherous conditions push even the most experienced climbers to their limits. Known as the “Savage Mountain,” it demands exceptional skill, endurance, and resilience from those who attempt its ascent.
Broad Peak Expedition
Broad Peak is a towering mountain above Concordia, located at the heart of the Karakoram range. Situated on the border between Pakistan and China, it stands between K2 and the Gasherbrum peaks. The mountain was first ascended by an Austrian team, including Kurt Demerger and Hermann Buhl, in 1957. Reaching Broad Peak begins with a breathtaking trek to base camp, showcasing some of the most stunning landscapes in the Karakoram. The climb itself is more demanding than that of nearby Gasherbrum II. Our ascent follows the classic West Ridge route, which rises directly above base camp on the Godwin-Austen glacier. This route features a 30–45 degree snow slope interspersed with short rock sections. Three or four camps will be set up, and ropes will be fixed along the steeper sections. This climb offers an exhilarating challenge suited for both intermediate and experienced mountaineers.
Trango Tower Expedition
The Great Trango Tower is among the world’s most remarkable granite formations, an ultimate goal for passionate rock climbers. Our ascent takes a straightforward and technically moderate route up the north face, starting from our base camp on the Dunge Glacier. The journey begins in Islamabad, followed by a scenic private bus ride along the Karakoram Highway to Skardu. From there, we travel in SUVs or jeeps to reach Askole, the starting point for a 7-day trek to our base camp below Uli Biaho and the Trango Towers. This captivating location boasts massive granite towers rising thousands of feet above, cascading down to the rugged moraine of the Dunge and Trango glaciers. A trek toward Concordia, near K2 base camp, helps us acclimate for the climb.
Laila Peak Expedition
The Laila Peak expedition offers a distinctive climbing experience in the Karakoram range, with stunning views of K2, Nanga Parbat, and other surrounding peaks. Situated in the Hushe Valley near the Gondogoro Glacier in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, Laila Peak rises to an elevation of 6,096 meters (20,000 ft). Known for its unique, spear-like shape, the northwest face of Laila Peak features a steep 45-degree slope over more than 1,500 vertical meters. Notable climbers, including Simon Yates, have successfully ascended it. Locals in Hushe report that only two successful ascents have occurred, with a total of just seven climbers reaching the summit. The first winter ascent was made in February 2013 by Spanish climbers Alex Txikon and José Fernandez. Laila Peak’s height is a topic of debate; some estimate it to be 6,200 meters, while others suggest 6,614 meters. A Japanese map by Tsuneo Miyamori, published in 2003, lists the height as 6,096 meters.
